A few years ago, a weatherman here in the UK said a major storm would pass us by...3 hours later over 2000 where homeless (please note that the UK is smaller than USA and 2000 is a large number by our standards.)
The fact is nature can twist and turn on the human race at unpredictable levels. Hands up any of you who have thought: Hell, we gonna get trashed here...and nothing at all happened because storms subsided or turned around!
You can't predict nature...what you don't want it to do it will do..and visa versa (that's the other way round for idiots)...you can prep all you like but in the end.........
Look at other more serious factors....prep for terroism?Ha! sure, they send you an e-mail...Hey we'll do this on such a date! Nothing in life is certain, and what happened is a tradgedy..and if there are people out there laughing...well...what if it was your family they dug out of the mud?

This is a debate and I would never wish anyone's family dug out of anywhere.
