Anyways, Solid Snake is so much cooler then Sam Fisher.....The games are a ton better as well.

Big Boss is Solid Snake. He was the original super soldier back in the late 60's. When he came into power, he wanted his legacy to continue, knowing he was dying.

So he did some cloning here and there. The Snake you all know and love in the PS1 game and the first PS2 game is just a clone of Bigg Boss, but with a developed mind it's own.

Wrong, Hector. Big Boss was in a coma in 1970, during the Les Enfants Terrible Project, which gave birth to David (Solid) and Liquid, along with Solidus. Now, Raiden was Solidus' adopted son, and Naked Snake (Big Boss) was technically insane, at the time of his death. Note that he never wanted a legacy, although he knew he'd have one.

But look at his demons:
He killed the first woman he loved.
He could never have children.
He lost his eye for a woman who betrayed him.
He had to kill his former mentors.
The country that he and his mentor loved ordered his mentor's (his first love's) death, and he was suckered into doing it.
His mentor would be honored as a nuker of Russians and a traitor of America, when she saved the world in reality.
He was forced to live, only to fight forever, until he died.
He died his hair blonde, presumably.

Voted for Sam. Original character, and I enjoyed the Splinter Cell games more than the MSG games. MSG may have set the standard for stealth games 10 years ago, but SC has taken it to a new level, and Ubisoft is a great company. They just keep making better games.

Both franchises are going in positive directions. Besides, this isn't even Snake against Sam. Sam should be a semi finalist at the least. He's a great videogame character, not some generic Duke Nukem wannabe.

And before you make a wise crack about the Master Chief, he wasn't a generic Duke Nukem wannabe, either. Read the books.

Raharu...where did you learn all this? I've played the games...and never came across that info. Is there a book based on the game? Or something you read on a Jap magazine/server?
