Anyone happen to know a possible release date for the next halo game?

Ask Ryan on that, I'm guessing it might be one of the first games for the 360. If not, than by early next year.

Rumored to launch the same day as the PS3, but that gives them a year and a half from the launch of Halo 2 to make it. Halo 2 was in production for a REALLY long time, and it still had alot of problems. I'd rather wait 5 years and get a REALLY good Halo.

It won't launch with 360, that's for sure. Bungie hasn't announced it yet, so as this point it's all speculation.

Why wouldn't they make their [s]king-of-the-hill[/s] flagship game (so to say) for the debut? They're dumb IMO lol.

What good games will go with the launch? I know about CoD2 but nothing else...

Because I want a good game, not a rushed game.

Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing, Kameo: Elements of Power, Dead or Alive 4, Call of Duty 2, Elder Scrolls 4... looks terrific to me.

Snak, Halo was rushed for the release of the Xbox. It was originally made for the Mac. It wound up being better than its sequel.

Anyway, the rumor of the Ps3 launch on the same day as Halo 3 is a myth. Gates said that to be ..."intimidating," in a way. Bungie hasn't even announced Halo 3 yet. Don't expect it for a while. I'm not going to worry about it, I got my fill on Halo games for like, a lifetime.

I can't wait for most of the 360 games. Games that Snak mentioned, etc.

Edit: So yeah, Bungie could take up to 3 years.

Halo was being made for Mac in '98-'99, they had time. Sure, they had to crunch to get it out, but they still put a bunch of time into it. It was an RTS originally, then a shooter, then for PC, then for Xbox, so they had a good bit of time working on the project as a whole.

Yeah but converting all that to the Xbox and slopping together and unforgetable Multi Player in the amount of time they had > the three years wait for mediocre Halo 2.

I really doubt the power of Halo 3 if it comes out during the PS3 launch. Great games take time....Twilight Princess has been in development since Majora's Mask.....

Since we don't know when PS3 is officially launching, we can't really say that. But yeah, it was just dumb Gates who said it would launch with PS3, and he's more of a figurehead these days anyway. I won't take anything unless it's from Bungie, and they aren't offering up much info.

Exactly. In fact, a correspondent from Microsoft quoted Gates` comment as "philosophical" more than it was fact.

Though there is no real date for the PS3 launch, Sony is aiming towards the middle of 2006. If not than a little sooner.
