Now, after hearing all of the mainstream reports, seeing his name everywhere and hearing that "Back Then" song everywhere I go, I want to know what you all think of Mike Jones.

Personally, I think that if he can get a contract with a record label, my neighbors dog could get one just as easily. I mean, the majority of his songs only say his name over and over again, so much you would think there is more of a subliminal message in his name that's he's trying to get out.

I'm not personally a KC fan, nor any of the Idol singers. It's not that we're 'hatin' on anyone, by any means, it's just a simple fact, he can't rap.

I'll give credit where it's due, Notorious BIG was great what he did, YYT are somewhat decent, but when all of your songs consist of you saying your own name over and over again, I think it's time to rethink a few things.

Perhaps, write your own lyrics/music instead of having the label do it. I know a great deal of bands have never done this, never will, but I think it's a bit obvious someone is writing these insane lyrics and he is just moving his mouth.

I know music is a heated debate for some, but have you heard Nelly live (as an example of what record labels do)? He sounds *nothing* like he does on CD because they cut and slice the notes all over the place, yet he is topping the charts all the time.

Your calling Snakker a dumbass but here you are changing the words to the song to make it seem like he's some junkie. The chorus doesn't even go that way man, what are you listening to?

People just like his music. It's inspirational in a way since no one really did like him back in the day. Saying his music sucks for that only proves your just haten on him.

If you don't like his music, don't listen to it. It's that simple. He aint doing anything to harm you.

Wow. This is a topic on Mike Jones. Don't give me "you don't have to listen to his music" crap. I don't listen to him. But I have heard him, most of his songs, and they all suck. I'm going to speak my mind. And what I said sums up the point of that song. How the hell is that crap inspirational?

It may not be to you since rap is just not your thing from the way your typing out your post.

If you were just more open to different ways of expression, like people who are aquainted with this sort of music, you'd feel it inside to. Sure he's saying the same thing over and over in the chorus but that's the point. That's his way of spreading his name.

In short, it's his thing. Same way 50 Cent started out with In Da Club, Mike Jones is using the whole "Who? Mike Jones!" thing to bring up his popularity. Notice on how most of the kids in school say it constantly. Why? Cause it's something new and appeals to todays youth.
