Music is music. What is with you "rockers" and calling modern rock music, "sellouts". I like todays rock, it's actually GOOD. My Chemical Romance (new stuff), Linkin Park, Crossfade, Cold, Nickelback, Staind, Alter Bridge, all good stuff.

Just because they aint "growling" and "screaming", there sellouts? Or just because there music get's played on MTV? Where else you gonna play it? Fuse? The channel that pales in the popularity department to MTV? If you were a musician and your music wasn't played on MTV, you'd be like "Oh ****, I got's to fix that problem."

You play music to get PAYED, not ignored. Especially you Master_Yoda. Always saying "there music sounds the same". Um, duh. It's the same band playing different songs. There BOUND to sound alike. That's what got them popular in the first place.

Maybe so. But they don't change their style. Nirvana's first album--Bleach--was near metal, lots of screaming, the Nevermind album is mello and grunge, and In Utero is basically everything that Kurt wanted....screaming, and weird lyrics.....

I respect all bands really. Hey, they are making millions and Im not. They play an instrument while I don't even know what to do with a guitar.....

But when you look at Nickelback and Stainds albums. You can't identitfy song from song really....

**** NO. LP is okay. But they are sellouts because they play the music to get money, not to make the music. Their songs wind up becoming soulless trash, like Good Charlotte always was.

Btw, I hate emo music. kthnx

Agreed.

And I know you have to live on something, but selling out to sponsors and making crap songs = lame.

The band members probably didn't have to work at all after Hybrid Theory. If they hadn't made Reanimation and that Jay-z gay thing, they'd be way more respected.

More respected? Becuase of the Reanimation and Jay-Z mix, there more noticed than most bands. I can't wait for there new album.

People don't just like Rock people. The whole rap/rock mix is an awesome thing and it's great that there a few bands out there spreading this great style.

Those that produce and make music for a living are far from selling out. They make money doing what comes natural to them. Now, it goes without saying that we all like different music, but whether you like or dislike a band, you can't really classify them as sell outs for making money from their talent.

For instance, since we're talking about LP, their collab. with Jay-Z put them all over the charts (both of them). Now, they didn't simply decide one day to pick a random rapper or group and bring them in, their manager most likely sat them down and they discussed it. Now, within that discussion, I am sure money was discussed and with that, who could pull it off and bring in the most.

LP is looking to get paid, their manager(s) are looking to get paid and finally, so is the actual company backing them.

Money makes the world go round. It's not until they put the money before the fans that they become sell outs. When money is the only reason they are doing it, then you may as well classify them in that category. Those that fit into this category are those that refuse to do anything for the fans (autographs, meetings, appearances etc).
