I am admin of www.best-board.com a competitor of staff-lounge.
i know Michael the admin here who is member of my site and i have link exchange with him.
I never bother about what others do normaly and dont disturb or register with a competitor site and advertise about my forums.
But i have read a thread here crictise my forums www.best-board.com

I dont tolerate my site to be criticese by others whether you are an competitor or not...
You dont have rights to produce details of BB here or anywhere and further comment it badly...
I have never crossed your site or your activities before and wont be doing it in the future and i expect the same with you....
this is very bad thing to do...
i dont bother if you delete this thread but make sure you take the stats of best-board from your site.

I want to be the first to agree with miner. It does not seem right to me that a competitor would gather data for each of his competitors and display it on his own site without asking the permission of any of the others.

As previously mentioned via private contact, the rankings of Alexa can easily be artificially inflated, are therefore misleading, and thus borderline libel. I, nor any of my staff, have taken any prerogative to market to Alexa, and I would rather not worry about potential members of mine making any judgements based on my Alexa performance. This is a decision that I solely am entitled to make and my competitors are not. As miner stated, I have never crossed your website to promote my own, and I have never published any information or statistics about your website on my own to make mine appear "better" than yours. I ask that you show the same courtesy.

I'm asking that you please remove my information from your chart before I am forced to take this further.

As a member of both the Staff lounge and BB.... I'm wondering why y'all see yourselves and your sites as competitors in the first place. Seems to me that you're both trying to do the same thing, make the web a better place for forum admins and owners.
I can 't say that I either agree or disagree with the chart thingee... perhaps it wasn't the right thing to do, I'm not the one to say so. Just saying that I think y'all shouldn't see yourselves as competitors, but fellow forum owners here to help forum admins the best way you can.

Thanks for your open comments, i feel ashamed to post it here but the admin here has been informed thro PM before about this by GTAce.

We didnt get an positive response from the admin here.

I agree Staff-lounge is 1000 time better then my site but i will never accept anyone crictices BB for their own gain

You are absolutely right, Ohiosweetheart - our goals should be to improve the internet as a whole, and more specifically the forum environment. But let's face the brutal reality. We are all here to promote our respective communities, and we have all worked very hard to do so. The problem here is that the owners of The Staff Lounge are not just promoting their own site with this chart, but they are also damaging the image of their competitors. The Staff Lounge has every right to do whatever they want to promote their own site, but when my site's name begins to appear on their website, alongside with many of my "competitors", then somebody has gone too far.

This is why we are asking for the common courtesy to not include us in your promotion of The Staff Lounge. Feel free to promote via other methods, and I encourage you to do so, as the more competition there is, the better our communities will be. But please do not include our names in your promotion.

We own the rights to our domain, names, and statistics. You do not. If you had asked our permission beforehand and given us good reason behind this chart, we might have been absolutely ok with the chart, but you did not do any of this.

Ohiosweetheart, when it all comes down to it. Whether or not we consider ourselves competitors is not important. What is important is that we do not want our website or statistics displayed on your (TSL) website. We have asked that they be removed - there should be no further questions. It is clear what needs to be done.

This should be kept off the public board. I advise you PM Micheal with this matter if you haven't already. There is no reason to involve the other members in a private matter.
Oh, by the way, if I remember correctly I believe Raven doesn't give her permission to edit her stuff ;D

Sorry, I must of missed that part. I still think you should try again. I can't speak for him (he does posess me though sometimes O_o) but maybe he felt you reason invalid or something? Whatever the reason, posting it wasn't the best idea. Becasue you get weirdo's like me try to post :O

Believe me, he knows where I stand on the issue. He knows the reasons that mine and others' sites should not be included on that chart. I listed the reasons in a numbered list. Contacting him in private accomplished nothing. I hate to do this, but what we are requesting is SO simple. The solution lay in your hands, Michael. Remove our sites from that chart and you will never hear from us again. Leave us on the chart and we will continue to bother you about it until you decide to remove us. I just don't understand why it is so necessary to include us on that chart. I don't understand why it is so hard to remove us. Lastly, I don't understand why such a reputable community would do something like this in the first place.

Michael...can you answer one question for us - Why are we listed on that chart in the first place? What are your motives behind it?

Sorry but this reply will have to be short, i am in the middle of a break between working. GTAce via our contact our email i think you are clearly distorting my position in the matter, i have apologised for any inconvinience the graph might have caused to your forums, and also outlined the reasonining for using your site and other competitors too. Henceforth, in no way was i trying to distinguish our site against others but merely observe the impact the addition of a comparison chart may have on Alexa rankings.

As, i also previously stated via PM this is the festive season, henceforth meaning longer hours working, as i type now it is 23:54 i am back in work in a couple of hours trying to make Christmas as special as possible, therein lies the reason for my apparant incompetence for removing your site details from the comparison graph.

My i reiterate i feel your portrayal of my position and my attitude towards this event has been very overemphasised and biased. I would personally regard the way in which you have distorted my ideology towards the use of the competitors graph and my stance on other competitors as a complete lie.

The graph, as you so wish has been removed, and this topic, as you so wish will remain open for further discussion. Once again, i am sorry for any inconvinience and hope that this matter can be resolved.

yes i do have permission from the author before modify this smilies and some of her other images too, Raven other name is shelley who is best friend of mine and also consider her as my guru in teaching skin designing for me....
