There is a difference between successful forums and good forums you can't be both because in the end thier goal conflict one another to the point the Admin would go nuts trying to balance the goals.

Good Forums - Have a loyal following because the Admins work hard on making every single member feel welcome and they do everything they can to keep things alive. TSL is the perfect example of a good forum the topics and such are more theory based and aren't all exciting but still Mike makes them interesting in other ways and things flow togather and people stay interested. Good forums like TSL will not have thousands of members when I say thousands Im talking 5000 + but it will make up for this in the amount of dedicated members.

Successful Forums - Forums that somehow strike on a concept or topic that is widely popular and keeps new members coming in on a steady basis and a little hard work at the beggining and things just kinda take off and with some advertising later and promotion of your fourum you find yourself with a monster on your hands. At this point you are successful you'll never have the loyal following good forums have but despite that new members will just keep rolling in and you by the nature of this you are driven to keep the member count going up up up and you cant take the time to care about the day to day concerns of members. Eventually your forum topic will die out and membership will slow down and this will eventually lead to forum death.

To sum up
Good forums
  • + Long lifespan
  • + Loyal members
  • + Well run and maintained always fun
  • - Depends solely on great adminship
  • - Slow but steady growth
Successful forums
  • + Widely Poular
  • + Very active
  • + Lots of members
  • - Dies out with the topic
  • - 1 person can devote his or or herself to it because it is simply to big
  • - Harder to manage

Holy Christ, Dave.. Change the font color. I can't even read that.. Unless I select it all.

Overall, a good review of the distinguishing between good and successful forums. Very accurate.

Much better. And you're welcome, it's a fine article. Not many people can tell the difference between these two.

While World of Warcraft is the biggest MMORPG on the market, many players are a bit tired of the traditional hack and slash grind. Furthermore, life at level 70 can be a bit boring at times - sure you can get money and gear, but there really isn't that much difference between having 5000 World of Warcraft cd key or 100,000 WoW CD Key, especially when you already own everything else. Now Blizzard Entertainment has announced the addition of achievements to the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King Expansion. Like achievements in the console world, players will be awarded with titles, gear and bragging rights for doing everything from getting a hair cut (yes, it's true), giving ten hugs to killing fantastic numbers of enemies in player-versus-player combat.I heard warhammer online begin on September 7th, 2008, now there are many people already have experienced the exciting game. If you win the game at the very beginning, you can not only enjoy in it but also lead ahead forever. That needs amount of War power leveling providers to satisfy the players. Here there is a website offering power leveling for warhammer power leveling called warhammerpowerlevelings.com. It acclaims that there is the best and securest way to power lever your character to your desired high level fast. There is an outstanding war power leveling experience. We have done a great number of orders for Warhammer Online Power leveling. We are sure that you can’t get such an outstanding war power leveling service as the same as we do. Our guys for war power leveling are skilled gamers for years. They know how to power level your character in your satisfied way. You can try on here.We can know from the users whether the leveling is good or not. Like item4u.com they also can provide best War power leveling. I believe the good website will help players to win in this exciting game.
