Here is a list compiled from, vBWebmaster of all the top directories on the internet which we recommend submission to. Most of these require some form of linkback and, especially DMOZ are infamous for taking a while to get added to their directories.

No problem, i'd recommend using the same format for each submission and take care with your description, keywords and title making sure they are all relevant to searchs you want to rank highly for.

If I may, here is a better way to submit your site to the top 100 search engines.

Each link goes directly to their sign up page. Also, most are free. I use it for every website I build.

Great work Michael. The only think I would say about your General listing is most want back links in return or $$$.

Thanks for your suggestion, i have added in an additional segment into this list which contains All-In-Submission tools which automatically submit your website to recommended directories and search engines in return for some form of linkback to their website.
