Tribute to Eddie Guerrero

For those who just saw Smackdown two days ago, and witnessed Eddie again cheat his way into victory (his trademark style), I have terrible news.

One of the best wreslters in the history of wrestling entertainment has passed away. He was found dead in his hotel room.

Eddie was indeed a favorite of mine, and hearing this is definatly killing me inside. I doubt I'll get over this anytime soon seeing as how I grew up admiring this man and all his accomplishments.

Eddie, thank you for representing your people everytime you entered the squared-circle. Thank you for being an inspiration to everyone around the world who dreamt about becoming a wrestler. And thank you for putting a smile on my face everytime I was feeling down.

Your hilarious style of wrestling and attitude will always be remembered in our hearts. That's all I can say right now...I'm not in the mood to talk anymore.

Rest In Peace
Eduardo Gory Guerrero Llanes
1967 - 2005

I lied, I cheated, I stole the show,
Now its time for me to go,
And when WWE seems incomplete,
Always remember Latino Heat.

Although I don't like wrestling, I hate to see someone die.

The link doesn't work for me. What did he die from?

The link works fine for me. Just go to wwe.com, it'll be on the front page. They didn't say what he died from but I know he's had a history of heart attacks.

Thats Sad Bro,

Currently I'm not a fan of Wrestling anymore, I used to back in the day. But I do know who Eddie Guerrero was. It is truly sad to see someone of his Stature die in such a horrible way

But now Eddie is in a much better place.

So` Long Eddie it was great knowing you.

I remember back when andre the giant passed, a sad day indeed. It's sad to see so many people putting theirself through hell on a weekly basis pass away.

I know it's all a game and 99% of it is fake, but many do get injured. I don't care what anyone says, dropping 30-50 feet, getting hit with a steel chair and being dropped on tacks does not feel good. I've been dropped and I've been hit with a chair through a local wrestling bit and it sure doesn't feel like heaven, even when a person hits you the right way.

If only more people had the brain you have. Thank you for pointing that out. While it is wrestling entertainment, the risk they take to put out a good show is just amazing.

He was 38...and had a bad drug history. It finally caught up to him I guess.

Wow, this has really hit the community hard. Will there be some sort of WWE-eqse memorial or a belt named after him?

The Death of the wrestler is indeed a loss to the WWE community.

I say that not only as a previous wrestling fan, but because I was actually knocked out cold when someone hit me in a ring. They didn't know what they were doing and I was taken out and off the floor (of course, after being pinned...only then did they realize I was out cold!).

I have a high tolerance for pain, but when you have your head busted open by metal and you wake up to stitches and a HUGE headache, it's aweful.

I respect the people that put themselves through this because had I not been watching just a little of what had been going on at the time, I could have had my kneck broken.

Both RAW and Smackdown! this week are tribute shows to Eddie. I saw RAW on Monday. Boy was that a sad show. It started with all the wrestlers, referees, GMs, etc. from both shows standing at the ramp. Mr. McMahon said a few words, they tolled the bell 10 times. The rest of the night were interpromotional matches (RAW vs. SD!) followed by a pre-recorded tribute to Eddie from one of the wrestlers during each segment. All matches were voluntary and didn't necessarily follow any storylines. At the end of the night, after the main event, WWE champion John Cena placed an Eddie Guerrero shirt in the middle of the ring, put the belt on it, and left. It was a great way to end the show.

It wasn't easy watching wrestlers and a lot of the audience in tears. The two hardest tributes for me to watch were Batista's and Chris Benoit's.

They're saying Friday night's Smackdown! is going to be even sadder.

And for the record, he died from heart failure while brushing his teeth in his hotel room. After he didn't answer his wake-up call, his nephew Chavo's call (who's also a wrestler), and several knocks on the door, Chavo and security broke into the room and found him dead on the bathroom floor with his toothbrush in his mouth. After several attempts to revive him, he was pronounced dead.

Batista's was kinda sad...

I loved...how Chavo beat JBL, while imitating Eddie! It was...inspiring in a way. I can see a new Champion in the future...
