Okay, how can I resonably get the first 100 or so members to my forum, and actually get a good deal of them to post?

My forum is currently only a few weeks old and I have no real members to speak off. A few that just came made a few/no posts, and left. The others are just me, pretty much talking to myself.

How do I get the initial members?

The first 100 is generally the hardest to get.

- Get some of your friends to post on your forum so it isn't inactive.
- Post some discussion generating topics that entice people to come out of the wood work.
- Some admins like to create fake user accounts to make it look like the forum is rather active.. however I personally highly dislike this practice.
- Advertise your site via your signature in the various forums you visit.
- Set up a newsletter and periodically send it out to your members.
