1000????? *faints* I don't think I could pull off thousand members within an rp board XDD. The only thing I wanted to know is how you get ppl active and keep them active, and also how keep them dedicated to your board?

The problem with my board is that people sign up, and then never come back, or they don't even get there accounts validated >_<. So far I have about 25 active members (it's gotten a bit better), which post at least every one/two days. But my membercount is on 55 (and about 10 unvalidated accounts).

Would it maybe help if I get boards/special things on the forum that other Harry Potter RPG don't have? For instance I was thinking about actually making a 'clubs' board, where members (as students) could setup there own club, and roleplay as their having that club, and think up activities on their own.

I was also thinking of sending out a bulk email after an ammount of time, with updates, news, and fun stuff about the boards and HP etc.

Anyway, if anyone has more tips on how you can keep your members active, and the boards more atractive so ppl will come back, very much appreciated ^^.

One of the things that really took off for my site was that I instituted the reputation system and based certain promotions off of it. Those promotions gave users access to other "hidden" parts of the board (other forums and the Arcade).

I've also given out rewards to members who reach certain goals that oyu have for your site. I've given rewards for people who bring in a certain amount of members, posting the 5,000th or 10,000th posts. You can find really cheap trinkets online $5-$10 that you can give out as rewards. People really like getting surprises and rewards.

I would be interested in this as well.... We have a good number of users, but far too many are lurkers. Our business is seasonal and winter is when everyone is most active, that and early spring. But getting folks not to get horrible cabin fever, and also getting the quiet ones to post, is the biggest issue.
