Well, as some of you know, I am one the few Global Moderators at Duelist Underground.

I know school is going to slow down your forum no matter what but what can I do besides "advertising" to help bring up the traffic in my forum?

Well personally i feel that you can bring members two ways. Both will improve your member count but usually one will leave you with an abudance of inactivty, not posting members. This is why it isnt advisable to go around PMing people to join. Personally two methods for me work, one is personal promotion; we are all in circles of friends make sure to abuse them; wether it be in real life or internet circles make sure you are telling family and friends about your site and generally just spreading the word.

Another method is of course advertising, putting your site wherever and whenever you possibly can; joining Google AdWord networks and partaking in a series of link exchanges will always garentee more site visits and members. Of course ensuring your site is unique and appealing goes along way to entice those surfers who are more trusting of their first impressions.

Try my other method. I mean if you cant advertise at other forums, or display advertisements how else you are planning on attracting new members, they arent all implanted with the knowledge of the URL to DU, you have to shoove it in their blind eyes!

Increasing traffic.. Hmm. Honestly, before you even think of increasing traffic, make your site the best it can be with some very active members. They will give links to friends eventually. And as long as you have a site that will interest people, they will stay. As loing as you have a very active forum, it won't matter whether or not you have several thousand members. Then relocate, rebuild, restart, under new leadership. If you have an admin you don't like, and he's Head Admin, you're boned. =/

Our forum is active, very active. But I want to be like the old DU, active 24/7.

Sorry to say, but IFDU > New DU. It had better overall management (adminship specifically), it was more active, it was going farther, and it was more active since it also attracted other nations. It was a great site.

I have told you what you need to do to get DU active, this is what i was doing. Promoting, sticking links wherever and whenever remotely possible.

You don't know the real story behind that, do you Ryan?
