Hi all,

New guy from Ireland here. I've been snooping around this board for some time now and only today did I decide to register and contribute (mainly because of my hatred of registering on forums and having to introduce myself ).
I've been working with vBulletin since December 2000. Back then I knew next to nothing about coding or editing it in any way, so I let others do that for me. But around the beginning of 2002 I became interested in PHP and have become experienced since then. I've had about 5 years experience in HTML and have worked on numerous sites over the years. My only downside is graphics. I never have any inspiration..so I usually base layouts and graphics off other sites which really isn't great.
My experience in other board software isn't so thorough as the vBulletin. I've worked on a limited basis with phpBB, of which I actually detest the Administration panel, so I find it hard to ever even look at it again. Over the last year I've got myself an IPB license, but actually haven't really used it ...a couple of months on a friends site. But I mainly bought it to try and learn how IPB works, but seemingly it's more complicated than vBulletin or is that just me?
Anyway, onto real life. In real life I enjoy socialising mainly, some online gaming on Xbox Live!, badminton, but in all my life comes back to socialising. I spend at least 60-70% of my free time (excluding my computer time) out with friends.
Errm, yeah, this looks like a really awesome site and I am annoyed I didn't bother to register before now. May I just ask if anyone thinks it is worth it to buy Premium Membership? It's something I always have to consider when I register on a new board (like once a year :p). So, I hope I'll be welcome here. - End rather long introduction!

Edit: I was just browsing the forums and clicked on my Profile link. Broken link. Presumably because I used special characters in my username. I'm not sure if this issue was raised before...just to let you know about the evil inside vBSEO! heh

Thanks everyone

Just one point for Michael as I assume you are the owner around here. Please review your policy on 'swearing'. I honestly don't believe that blocking out swearing has any relevance in the 21st century and it seems ridiculous that more can be gotten away with on daytime television than on these forums Also, for the audience it is aimed at; i.e not children, then maybe at least some stuff should be unblocked. Maybe adopt the Internet standard of PG-13 or something....

Or am I just rather picky?

Swearing is a no no ;D

Were trying to keep this place as professional as possible. Though we do let it slide once in a while, if the mood is right XD

Well, in that case, I'll change my 'Current Mood' to angry

Welcome to the site. And yeah, I do agree with your stance. But as HM said, we try to keep it at a minimum.
