I have a member who has been banned 9 times now since i banned him,

its not like i banned him for a lame reason, he was banned for disrespecting staff a numerous ammount of times in different posts, which i'm sure all of you would ban a member also if they disrespect staff,

the first couple of names he made after i banned him was still disrespecting the staff so i banned them, then the 8th name he made he was posting like a regular member so i thought we'll see if he continues to post without being disrespectful to staff or breaking any of the other rules he done this for 4-5 days, then he made a post in a thread about the death of Eddie Guerrero saying

r.i.p.????this guy was a loser, didnt u see his commercials,or didnt u see him "wrestling", all those guys do is talk **** to each other, and the fights are so simulated, i dont know how anyone older than 10 years old is still entertained by 2 sweaty half naked men in thier thirties pretending to hit each other, its pathetic, dont rest in peace eddie, cuz u dont deserve to

so i warned him for that then he went back to his old ways being disresptful to the staff so that was that name banned, then he came back again being disresctfull to staff again to that was his 9th name banned,

i'm running out of ideas what to do about him, i keep banning the IP's that he posts with, i've got email activation on and i also ban his email addresses,

so any ideas on what else i can do?

Ok, you've got a tricky problem here. But make it so that when a member registers it sends a validation email. Like that ee has to keep making more email adresses. You could also involve the police and/or try and get his ISP and get his connection cut off...

I've got email validation on and i don't really want to involve the law, i'm hoping he'll give up soon enough,

i'll send an email to his ISP and see what happens...

There are a few things you can do

Since you use vbulletin:
- Let him register again and immediately put him in Tachy Goes to Coventry so that no one can see any post he makes. He will wear himself out eventually.
- Install the Miserable Users hack (since your profile says you use 3.0.x, you should use this version: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showt...threadid=59727)

he came back a couple of times since i posted this, but it's been a week or so now since he's registered a new name so either he's gave up or his ISP has cut him off

Have you got any personal information of this spammer - such as an Instant Messenger address, or email address, i have often discovered that discussing the matter outside of the hierachy of the forum constraints can lead to you discovering the problem at hand and resolving it. * Michaelmbers/moparx.html" target="_blank">Moparx suggestion of installing the Miserable User is one i would personally recommend also.

i've got multiple email addresses of his, he hasn't put any instant messanger names in his profile, i usually talk to the banned members on an instant messanger if they don't know why they were banned or don't like the reason they were banned for, so that is usually the first thing i check for,

i was thinking about installing the Misserable Users hack but decided against it, too busy with other stuff, although i guess it would only take a min or so to install.

yes hopefully they have recieved numerous emails complaining about him

Perhaps you could try installing the Spam Decimator hack.
Which automatically removes all posts and threads by particular user - reducing the amount of destruction that particular user could cause?

Maybe have a quiet word with him pmming him, nicley saying Would you please stop annoying staff members and spamming on our forum. I have created this forum for the benefit of others to enjoy the forum, And people like you do not deserve to join a forum if you wish to carry on doing this.

I have a problem member too, so I warned him. He did it again and again, so I warned him again and again. I have put a restriction on his account for a nice 365 days.....lol
