well i dunno how to put it but lately i have feedbacks from our mods and staff and generally senior members that my forum is tending to get a bit too much exclusive for hardware. While this might not seem bad, the prob is cos(forgive my using a bit specific terms) there are a bit too many modders and high end overclockers on forums who usually talk about advanced hardware issues. Now this has led to a typecasting of our board into a hardware kinda board which it isn't and is more about technology in general(includes software). While the current members do post around in otther sections like general sections and software its plain where their interest lies.

I have seen new members giving feedback that "this place is a bit too geeky" and kind and not being regular. While as staff we are trying to get over that image by having and promoting other sections, its prooving a little hard.. any thts or help on this

I dont think you should take critism that the forums are too "geeky" harshly. Perhaps it might be wiser for you to promote the Hardware feature abit more since, since you have yourselves an USP (Unique Selling Point) here which members are clearly buying into, who cares if your Hardware focused. Someone has to be and if there is a market for it why not take advantage of it

Or promote other forums/subjects to create a balance.

I'd say try to also add a little general community around the forum. Then there is a place for other topics, and people won't refer to your forum as "geeky." Normally when people think about computers, they think "nerds." Well add some things to discuss, forum games, media, gaming, etc. Then it can balance out and focus on mainly hardware, but also add a different style and more of a community with a general area.

Your forum is fine...be proud of what you've started. Let people say what they want, there just jealous.
