What is not tolerated on your board? What I mean is what is a instant ban?

On the sites I used to have there were two things:

• Pm Advertising
• Hacking/Spyware/Cracking

I wouldnt say that a PM advert suffices as a instant ban, but of course any threatening behavior which could endanger the website or its members is considered out of bounds and consitutes an out right ban.

Just take away their PM abilities if they PM adertise. And like Mike said, something that degrades your forum needs to be dealt with accordiningly, like anyone who endangers your members and the safety of your site.

Yeah, normally forum software will have their own set of guidelines. At least IF did. They ran all the basic rules. No illegal crap, stuff like Grudge said.

Pretty much the same as Major Grudge but whether warn/suspend/ban depends on my judgement, or my mods

We revoke PM abilities for advertisers... and then it basically comes down to a case by case... if someone posts porn, then we'll usually ban them right there. If it's obvious they aren't there to help the forum any, get rid of them.

If people Flame really badly, using inapropriate language and so fort, they will get an instant ban. We have members of around 12 years old, so I really don't tolerate that. Also linking to pornographic images/websites they will get an instant ban.

There are ofcourse other factors for instant banning, but those are the most important.

Anything that has to do with illegal downloading of games (NOT Emulation)

Are emulators illegal to begin with? Also, Porn is a big no no on PP.

-no porn
-no pm advertising
-no forum advertising

Flaming is harder. A new member can get kicked off on the spot for flaming, but a more experienced member with a good reputation will only lose some face. A staff member, however, has to be held to even higher standards and therefore needs to be punished more decisively, or else it will appear that your staff has no standards

Forum Advertising isn't a bad thing. It can even help you if done properly. PM advertising is much, much different, however. Pornography is really just unacceptable on public forums available to kids.

what I meant by forum advertising was when someone joins and posts links to their forum everywhere
