Why you ask? First of all, it is free. Second it has an easy and understandable control panel which gives so many features for you too choose from to your board.
And that's how we know Eddy

I enjoy vBulletin as it's completly customizable and well, it's just an all around go to your need type of thing. So Yeah I prefer that more than IPB, which I use from InvisionFree!

If I had the money/ability to get vB for all my forums, I would.

That's where I started, and I hope to not stay there... I've been with vB for like 6+ months, as an admin, 1.5+ Years as a member and I have learned a lot... I don't plan on ever stopping with vB. In fact, I plan on using it as a graduation project.

Kyah.. ._. I'm stuck between vBulletin 3.5 and IPB 2.1.

Both are amazing in terms of features, they offer everything you need to run an advanced community, and more. They both have extremley active hacking/modding communities, so if there's a feature not built-in, you can hop on over and find a Modification for it (most times).

I voted for vBulletin in this pole, though. It just feels more professional. Not that IPB isn't wonderful, like I said, but it just feels like vBulletin offers a tiny bit more. Could I make a huge list of all of the features of each to back my decision, prolly not.. <__<; but I still think vB has just a little bit more packed in, you know?

Thanks for that mini review I agree with you, personally i feel that the general opinion about vBulletin is that you are offered a much more professional, and yet more advanced choice. With better modifications, and skins but a much more complex overall forum control system and posting environment than that which IPB offers.

IPB is my favourite for features such as the control panel, AJAX integration and speed.

I use phpBB on my boards because I'm too poor to afford anything else, so I'm stuck with it! I have improved it slightly by security hardening it and installing some selected mods. And I'd better get used to it because I don't see myself getting IPB anytime soon
