IMO. IF is good for people that can't afford a host. I know I can't afford one so I just use IF. Easy to learn and use. The ones you have to pay for ARE better, but that's why it costs money.

I think Invisionfree is great. I made a forum for my Halo 2 clan, and it's worked out great. Does exactly what we need it to.

h2 Clan, eh ? Ahh, good times. Ask Mike, I've had a lot of experiences with Halo 2. Lmao.. Good times.. Anyway, another use for IF would be if you're looking for a quickie board that isn't intended for that many members. =D

I agree, it is very hard to do stuff. But their support is excellent... and provides a way to get a forum up for nothing... Unlimited Bandwidth, Unlimited MySQL database data, and stuff that usually costs so much money, for free. Harder to skin than others, but nicer. I love them.

They just ripped IPB 1.3.1 final and revised the admin.php and all the files.

Mind you InvisionFree was not made using Matt Mecham's authorization...

THey made it themselves since that 1.3.1's script was free... they took advantage of it.. its nothing so special... just basic HTML admin.php

no mods or nothing.. not so innovative

But on the second hand it is pretty good to get started on IPB

Yes, well that's why I switched to SpreeBB which they are making a attempt at making it better. I mean they update features every few weeks and so far on the features list is alot of things IF 2.0 is supposed to have and it's just pathatic how bad IF really is. Then again I'm using SpreeBB which isn't all that different in the long run but at least they have a skin selector.
