As far a free forum host i think that they are by far the wisest and most impressive choice with a heep load of customizable features as far as skins and modifications go. Sadly i just dont think they deliver a) for boards in their specific need of time, or b) boards which are larger than the rest.

Well in those terms they are good. But I really feel that they lack what it takes to help you take your site to the top of the food chain. Other than that IF is great for first timers and it really gives you the chance to master most of the ACP so eventually you can move on to IPB and you wont be totally lost. Though i have to say one thing that i really do like skin and MOD installation is easy, and thier support zone is the best of any webhost ever.

I love the way IF runs their system. The ACP is easy to master and the board does have a wide variety of options, despite it being more restricted than some hosts. And plus, it's free. Althought it is restricted in customization and thus making it touch to make unique, huge communities.

Sometimes i feel that IF isnt good for the forum market as a whole, i mean you get sites like my own DU who sign up free, unpaid and are taking members away from those whom have paid good money to setup their forum software and hosting ...

True. But people choose where they want to go. And people who choose IF decide that it's the better choice for them. Some people don't want to pay for hosting.

I've tried everything from phpbb to Invisionfree and found invision free to be the easiest and quickest to set up. And since I'm dire at coding etc, it's great for backward PC users like me.

I think it certainly is one of the most appealing features to IF, enabling users who havent got a dime of HTML or coding knowledge in their back pocket to create a successful and professional looking forum. Of course this is a double edged sword which has of course led to most forums lacking in originality being confined to skins from SZ, buttons from SZ, modifications from SZ ... this isnt a bad thing but it is hard to find anything different

Of course it also makes people a little lazy, which is why I'm learning all the coding I can. And as soon as I get more money in, I'll host my own with my own designs. Love to learn Nuke coding, but that's a different conversation.

I like it, it is nice and easy to figure out how to work everything and make the forums, etc. Skin Installation and coding is way easier also than most free sites, so that makes it pretty cool. I have used most of the free ones, and I personally think IF is the best.

Oh there is no doubting that InvisionFree is by far the best choice for a free website script, i would argue it is even better than phpBB.

IF is for those people who dont know HTML and php basically coding, because IF doesnt require any of that just copy and paste copy and paste. While IPB you do everything through FTP as well as Vbulletin which are far more advanced.IF is good for first timers who dont have a clue about coding or forums etc.but as for the advanced forumers and coders IPB or Vbulletin is the best.I stay with IF because i still have to learn a bit more.I'ved had my IPB boards and i'ved made mistakes and now they are gone for that reason =/, so i stick with IF.

I personally think InvisionFree is the best host, and yes then I include the ones that are paid as well. I like the way the admin CP is built and the entire invisionfree it self.

Has anyone here heard of forumforfree? They don't have the same upload capibility because of how thier servers are set up. However, they offer Full IPB 1.3Final software. I like them.

I tried IF and found that only having 1 skin option sucked so I went off to find another forum company. That is how I found forumforfree.

I love IF, I'll admit! So do my members, which is more important. Firestorm, a bit of poking about would've shown that you can provide multi-skin selection. That's one of the things I love - the support is fantastic! Compared to a first attempt with another provider (don't know if I'm allowed to mention them) that sucked after about 3 weeks of work and posting, IF is a godsend. I don't have the coin to pay, nor will I ask the members to do so, so I'm stuck with free services anyway.

The things that can be done with IF are impressive. If IFs users aren't exactly bursting with originality, it's mainly down to knowing enough to take full advantage of the potentials!

Yes theres code called "Skin selctor", Many other forum providers have IPB but they dont have the same quality Modfications as IF has the only one that has IPB 1.3 and that CAN COMPETE with IF is CLicdev other then there slow servers it's pretty good.
