What do I do to start up a WordPress blog? I don't see a register here or anything.....

WordPress is not a hosted blog, you have to download and install the script yourself. To start, you would need a hosting account and then you would simply download the script, upload it via FTP to your hosting account, create a mysql database and run the installer.

If you are looking for a self-hosted script, try blogger.com .

Once you have downloaded the .zip file it is actually probally the easiest programme you will ever install, very flexible with only an upload of files and a couple button presses and you'll have yourself your very own fully functioning blog.

Also, with CPanel, there is a one-click setup wizard, which is offered with our hosting. I mention this as we've not yet setup his hosting account, Michael (so as not to be confused with advertising).

It's more of a click -> install -> edit type of setup, but it prevents you from having to download, create a MySQL database, upload and install.

So do you guys suggest WordPress over blogger.com even though I doubt ill install it correctly....

If you are using WordPress with your hosting account with us, you really can't not install it correctly . It's a point & click process, from there you would just edit the information and blog away!

Blogger.com is a free, pre-hosted blog setting that is just as good, in my opinion, although it is not as cutomizable as WordPress would be. It really depends on the level of customization you want/need.

Do I need to unzip it first or something?

Exactly what I thought was going to happen...

Alright. So I downloaded it on my computer. Now what do I do? How do I unzip it?

K I unziped it, but now what the hell do I do? Im about ready to say **** this and use blogger.com

As stated before, in order to use WordPress, you must have a hosting account. If you do not have a hosting account, the script will not work as it is not something you can install to your hard drive, unless of course you run a server from your computer.

In order to install WordPress, you would upload the files via FTP to your hosting account, create a MySQL Database, enter those details into the config.php file and then run the installer for WordPress.

Then how do I get a hosting account? Isn't that what I am getting from you?

Upload files via FTP? Create a MySQL Database? WTF is all that?

There is no way that I can get hosting for blogger.com? There is no way that I can get rid of the hosting it provides for yours?
