Support Center Explained

vBHackers
hello everyone,

Now that the new re-lunch is finally here, i will show you in this guide how to use some of the new exciting feature we have called "Support Center".

On the top tab, click:

In this section, you have 3 main support categories:
  • HTML / CSS / Javascript
  • PHP /MYSQL
  • vBulletin

Just pick the one describing your problem best.
Note in vBulletin we have 2 possible sub categories, but if any doubt, just post it on main vBulletin category.

Once you're topic get replies, you'll notice that on every reply you have the following buttons available:

Mark As Aid:

Use this button to mark post as one that aided you reaching the solution.
This could be partial solution or something that eventually lead you to final solution.
Once that clicked, the post should be painted in green & post should look like this:

Mark As Solution:

Use this button to mark post as one that contains solution to your actual problem.
Once that clicked, the post should be painted in green & post should look like this:

When a person replies with a post that is later on marked as aid (or solution) by thread starter, the person that answered it is rewarded with support credit points. These points will be used in later stage by us to reward these users & do more (more info will be available as this is closer to going live)

Once post marked as aid or solved inside thread, the entire thread is "marked" as "solved". It will be visible both in thread listing, with prefix:

And when inside thread view, the first post will have this displayed:

Few Notes::
  1. Since new system will prefix as "Solved:" any solved problems, it's important to open thread per problem, and avoid mixing several problems under same thread "roof".
  2. Please mark the post that aided/solved your problem - by doing this you are serving both community with a Q&A database, then can be later browsed into - allowing users to know exactly what was solution should they came across exactly same problem, and more important it will reward the supporter that helped you.

That's it for now.
We hope you will benefit from this new system, in way that will allow you a better access to solutions DB. :smug:
