vBulletin Tagging

RSSCloud support has been enabled on all WordPress.com blogs. If you are running a WordPress.org powered blog you can do the same thing with the RSSCloud plugin.

So what does this really mean?

From the point of view of WordPress and this plugin there are three main additions:

Adds the <cloud> element to your RSS2 feed (more details here and here) which tells clients where and how to sign up for notification requests.
Registers a URL handler with WordPress to process the notification signups.
Sends out notification updates when a new post is published.

With vB 3.8.4 being a very minor release, it has little impact on our skins. The only skin that is affected by this release is Kombat. No other skins have been affected, and no special work is required on our skins while upgrading to 3.8.4.

There are a couple minor changes to be made to Kombat in order for it to be “fully 3.8.4 compliant”. The skin will work fine without these changes, because all they do is correct some naming conventions. How can I get on the alpha testing team?

The alpha testing team is already very full, so we cannot accommodate any more testers.

How about getting on the beta testing team?

Space is still available on the beta team. Like the alpha test round, beta testing will be done by a highly focused group of experienced testers, though beta will be a larger group than alpha.
