New CMS is up and running!

vBulletin Setup

We have installed our CrowdReport CMS on this site and imported all of the old articles from the prior WordPress installation into this new installation.

Basically, CrowdReport is a full integration of vBulletin 3.8 with WordPress including threaded comments and replies. Any member thread can be published to the frontpage with just a couple of clicks and the upload of a thumbnail. The goal is to provide editorial content that is created not just by select editors, but instead to take the best of all member created content and to highlight it.

I hope you guys enjoy it. It will…

vBulletin Setup

As some of you are aware, this site was hacked 2 weeks back with a mysql injection that was inserted through one of the plugins on the Wordpress frontpage. We immediately took down Wordpress and disabled signatures. Since then we have reenabled the signatures, but if you see RAPIDSHARE in your sig then you will have to restore it to what it was yourself. We have no ability to rebuild signatures.

The hacker basically guessed their way into finding a mysql table they could link spam and they found the signature table. We do not believe that this occurrence will…

Conference for forum owners?

vBulletin Setup

I wanted to see if there was any interest in having a conference for forum owners to get together once a year in order to share best practices and monetization strategies?

I have learned a lot more from talking to owners of forums than I have from reading about things on the internet and I would love to keep meeting and networking with forum owners. I believe that forum owners need to organize and form a trade association and conference in order to remain viable against blogs and other forms of social media that are more organized.

Companies like Internet…

vBulletin Setup

It gives me great pleasure to announce that vBulletinSetup has been acquired by Crowdgather!

I’ve been friends with Crowdgather since 2007 and had always considered offering the site to Sanjay if/when I decided to sell the forum. I know what programs Crowdgather has going on, and I’ve always felt it fit for the vBulletinSetup members, as 90% of them are vBulletin owners.
I wish I could have controlled it forever, but with a baby in the house, I just don’t have time for the constant support. I’ll still be around the forums; I won’t be leaving the vBulletin scene. I…

vBulletin Setup

I am sorry for the downtime you experienced. There was an issue with the DNS propagating properly and the forums may have been down for some of you. :banghead:

Everything seems to be working that I know of for now (Yes I know the ads are 404), let me know if you see anything acting weird and I will fix it.

Thanks!

vBulletin Setup

We are making some changes to the site, and it may be down for a period of time during the next 48 hours.
just a fair warning :friday:

I’d like everyone to welcome our newest mod to the vBSetup Team. Cerberus

Are you looking for vBulletin Hosting?

I’ve had a lot of people asking who our new vBulletin host is and I said I was going to wait until all the blogs where uploaded on the shared account, and the vBulletinSetup.com URL was on the new dedicated.
I have a hosting account with a member of our forum. This account is with our old admin Michael Biddle.
The account is very nice; I have about 2 dozen blogs/forums/databases on it. I have WHM and cPanel, so I could technically be a reseller if I wanted to sub a few hosted clients out. If…

vBulletin Setup

I’m going to shut down the forum at 7pm my time and start moving the site over to the new server.
Hopefully it’ll be very little downtime

vBulletin Setup

I’ve been big fan of Code Monkey’s site since it first opened up 3 years ago.
We finally worked out a deal to purchase it, and I just finished merging it with vBulletinSetup.
We now have a great vBulletin Modifications area full of excellent programing information and free vBulletin hacks.
We’ve added some great stats, this is the snapshot I took before the purchase last night.

This has been a great week, first this SleekvBDesigns merger, and now this :afro:

vBulletin Setup

I’m proud to announce a merger of a vBulletin Skins site with our forum to give us a few more topics on vBulletin Skins and Templates.
We also acquired 2 vBulletin Skins which I’ll be having redone and released soon. :headbang:
A few of the more active members from SleekvBDesigns have the Imported_ next to their name because there was already a user on our forum using that username.
Please contact me (via pm or profile message) and I’ll change your name for you.
As always, let me know if you see any bugs

vBulletin Setup

I’ve picked up a full time job so I’ll be sending all vBulletin work to our vBulletin Services category.
I may do some work for past clients on the weekends, but will not be picking up new clients.

A word to all those looking for work on your sites..
I take no responsibility for the work offered, I try to do my best to monitor activity, but the responsibility is ultimately in your hands :bigok:

Support vBulletinSetup

vBulletin Setup

Hi everyone,
First off I’d like the thank everyone who has donated to the forum over the last 2 years, you guys have really suprised me and I’m very appreciative of all the love and support!

I did have a subscription setup with the payments.php page and those who donated got access to a "Supporters Forums".
I’ve closed that subscription down and I’m now using a mod that will allow donations of any size and lifetime access to the Supports Forum.

Just click this link or the one in the navbar or up in the header and you can make your…

vBulletinSetup on Facebook

vBulletin Setup

Are you on Facebook?
than you should should our fan page :)
vBulletin Setup | Facebook

I did have a group setup, but recently turned it over to a fan page because you have more options on marketing and making the pages viral.
I know a lot of you have joined our group, thanks for the support, but we could use you on the fan page now. I had put a request into Facebook to close the group down and move the members like I had read, but I never saw any changed. Lucky it was only 100 or so…
